GROUP LEADERS
Martin McBride and Mike Moore.
The computing group meet every Monday at 3 p.m. at Carterton Community College Upavon Way Carterton, OX18 1BU during term time. Arrangements are in hand to meet at Mike Moores when the College is closed for up to 10 members if they want to continue their exciting journey through the world of computing.
Mike and myself are not teachers but share our considerable joint experience with the rest of the group. Although we do not give formalised training we try to cover topics across the whole range.
Complete beginners are welcome to come along for a taster session in a friendly, no pressure environment using the college computers which have a wide range of programmes to try out.
The more experienced members help with newcomers and we often learn new things ourselves by helping others, this is U3A principles in practice, “the teachers learn and the learners teach”
We show how to use the various programmes such as Microsoft Word, Outlook Express and Web surfing and photo/graphic manipulation operations.
Just give Martin a ring on 01993 845169 if you would like to come along to try your hand.
