The W. I hall walls were bursting from the laughter and excited exclamations!!  of the members at the Beetle Drive on Wednesday afternoon.    Everyone soon got the idea of the game which proved great fun.

The scones, cream and jam were also very well appreciated and especially the cup of tea as our throats we parched with all the excitement.   A wonderful afternoon of fun and friendship, hopefully to be repeated in the Autumn.     –   Social Committee.

On the first three games team C trailed team D but on the final round came good and scapped in as winners. Another night will be arranged in the autumn.

Over 60 U3A members and friends enjoyed their Christmas Meal on Saturday 17th December at Carterton Community Centre. The evening was arranged by our Social committee who worked very hard to make all the arrangements including music to dance to ….. for those who missed the final of Strictly Come Dancing on the same night.

Some photos are shown here including your Chairman “letting his hair down” …whats left of it anyway.

On Saturday 10th September over 60 U3A members and friends enjoyed a social evening watching the Last Night of the Proms.

In the first half of the evening we were entertained by an excellent young magician while we wrestled with the quiz trying to identify the counties of England, two tables tied with all the correct answers.

The plates of food that everybody had brought were then eagerly consumed before the highlights of the evening started culminating with a rousing rendition of Jerusalem and God Save the Queen.

Thanks to the Social Committee for all the hard work they put in to this event.
